This is sort of a potpourri of different webpages and things. Ultimately it is stuff that I couldn't figure out where to put.

Hurrican Katrina - This is a short telling of the events from my point view of August 29th, 2005 -- Hurricane Katrina. There are some images at the end - for those interested in looking at broken stuff.
Vitae - This is a little old now.
Temporary Library Website - These are the temporary UNO Library webpages that John Kelly (Access Services/Digital Librarian) and I created a few weeks after hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans area. UNO (University of New Orleans) was one of the few campuses to hold a Fall Semester afterwards. The library and librarians still provided library services long distance. We all worked from home and John and a few other staff members would work form a small room on the second floor of the LSU Middleton Library. After a few months we returned to campus and the library.
Searching for UNO co-workers - Things were pretty confusing after the storm. Everyone was scattered to every corner of the nation. University email was down, obviously, and cellphones and phones were working somewhat north of I-10, but nothing south. This was the only thing that I could think of to begin finding out about what was going on. It actually worked pretty good for the first couple of days... then we just started sending around alternate emails and phone lists of our co-workers to each other. I think it was about the 3rd. week that the university got up an official chek in site up. Anyway, this was my off the cuff solution to a lack of information.
Geoscience Information Society Newsletter - This is a little blurb I wrote updating everyone on the situation at the University of New Orleans after Katrina. In retrospect, there were a few errors in my reporting. There were a few more buildings that I later found out had some water damage, but it was minimal. Also, I should clarify, the wild dogs that inhabited the library confined themselves to the first floor and didn't roam the entire building.
