The Minors in the College of Business Administration

The minors in the College of Business Administration are intended to give students a structured introduction to a specific area of Business Administration. Students who wish to minor in Business Administration may choose from the following available minors:

Accounting
Business Administration (general)
Finance
Information Systems
Management
Marketing
Real Estate

Students who are majoring in any areas of Business Administration, International Business, or Hospitality and Tourism Management may not minor in Business.

The Business minors are impacted and availability is limited. Therefore, before declaring a minor a student must meet the following requirements.

1. Be a declared major (not pre-major) with at least 60 units completed.

2. Have completed the following courses with a grade of C or better in each:

Economics 101 (Macroeconomics)

Economics 102 (Microeconomics)

A 3-unit course in Statistics

3. Have completed Rhetoric and Writing 100, 200, and Communication 103 (or any combination of courses that satisfies the General Education requirements in Communication and Analytical Reasoning).

4. Have completed 9 units in the department of the major, including at least 6 units in upper division courses. Courses listed above may not be used to meet this requirement.

5. Have an overall GPA of at least 2.9. (This GPA requirement is subject to change. Students must meet the requirement in effect at the time that they declare the minor.)

Students who meet the requirements for the minor should bring an unofficial transcript to the Business Advising Center (BA 448) to obtain a Change of Minor form.

After declaring the minor, students should complete the requirements of the minor.
