On Sunday morning October 17, 2010, members of the SDSU Structural Biochemistry Laboratory and their loved ones walked the four-mile course through Balboa Park in San Diego with 25,000 or so others at the San Diego Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. Many of us have close family and friends whom we have lost to breast cancer. We walked through a steady drizzle in their honor. Then when the rain let up we remembered those among us who have survived breast cancer and imagined a sunny future without this scourge. It was a great morning.
