Professor Robert Stock was born and raised in Pittsburgh. He got part of his high school education in Paris, France. He went to the University of Pittsburgh for both his undergraduate and graduate studies. After his undergraduate studies he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tunisia. He got his Ph.D. in Public and International Affairs in 1975 and immediately began to teach at the School of Public Affairs at San Diego State University. In the early 80's he worked for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. In the early 90's he worked for a private consulting firm. Professor Stock teaches courses on public policy, the management of the federal government, the management of state government, and leadership. His research interests include the U.S. Presidency, the Middle East Conflict, and Leadership Theory. His hobbies include tennis, photography, and foreign travel. |
