Kate Bartkiewicz
Kate Bartkiewicz is a third generation San Diego native. She graduated Summa cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Sociology and an emphasis in Creating Writing and Law. Kate brings four years of experience working in development, marketing, event planning, graphic design and campaign management to the SMBA program. Kate is currently interning in data analysis and licensing and hopes to someday work for “the IDEO of sports.”

Lance Basler
Lance Basler grew up in Boise, ID and earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 2007. After graduation, Lance worked for an international consulting company as a recruiter and eventually helped open an office in the Netherlands. After moving back to the United States, Lance did volunteer work with the Florida Atlantic University football team and the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee. Upon graduation from the program, Lance hopes to pursue a career in player operations and administration for a professional sports team.

Eduardo Bayao
Eduardo Bayao is originally from Curitiba, Brazil, where he received a degree from Parana State University in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he moved to San Diego, where he started an import wholesale business. His passion for sports and involvement in a variety of sports programs and events lead him to pursue a career in the sports industry. His future career goals are to work with sports marketing and sponsorships, and he is most interested in soccer, mixed martial arts, and action sports, eventually taking his knowledge back home to South America.

Miles Bower
Miles Bower is originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2004.  Miles served as U.S. Marine Corps officer for almost six years after graduation, and transitioned out of the Marines in late 2009 with the rank of Captain.  Since leaving the Marines, Miles has worked in various capacities within the San Diego State University Athletic Department including compliance, marketing, sports information, and ticket sales.  He assisted in developing a military marketing plan for the 2010-2011 athletics season.  Additionally, Miles has served as a marketing intern for the San Diego Chargers since July 2010, assisting with corporate sponsor contract fulfillment and game day promotions. Following graduation, Miles is interested in pursuing a career in sports marketing in professional sports, collegiate athletics, or the action sports industry.

Shawn Brugge
Shawn graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. He remained in Boulder after graduation and worked in the public safety telecommunications industry for the past ten years. Shawn's most recent position was program manager at Intrado where he was responsible for all aspects of Intrado's reverse 9-1-1 product. He plans to use his knowledge and passion for sports with his business and technical experience to excel in the sports business industry.  Shawn is currently interning at the SDSU althletic department in the marketing department and in the student athlete academic support services department. After completing his sports business management MBA, Shawn plans on pursuing a career in sports marketing or operations management in the sports business industry.

Jason Bune
Jason C. Bune was born in New York, NY and raised in Cherry Hill, NJ. He graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in 2003 with a degree in Management Information Systems.  Jason had a brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles in their premium services division working with their luxury suite patrons and suite owners but eventually secured a position with BNY Mellon in the financial services industry prior to being accepted into graduate school. He is interested in getting back into the sporting industry through sport marketing or team operations either on the professional level or collegiate level.

Chris Clark
Christopher grew up in Oakland, California.  He has a Bachelors degree from SDSU.  As an undergrad, he was captain of the school’s National Championship Waterski Team and served three years on the Executive Sports Club Council. He continues to be the coach of SDSU’s Waterski Team.  Prior to joining the Sports MBA Program, Chris worked in the action sports industry with a focus on Surfing. Upon graduation from the program, he hopes to pursue a career in action sports.

Nico Coney
Nico Coney was born and raised in Arizona. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arizona State University while minoring in Communication and Leadership and Ethics. During his time at ASU, Nico interned in the Media Relations Department for Sun Devil Athletics. His lifelong passion for sports and his desire to receive an MBA has led him to the SDSU Sports Management MBA program. Upon graduation, Nico plans to pursue a career in intercollegiate athletics.

Hugo Coreas
Originally from El Salvador, Hugo grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing from University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2005 . After graduation, Hugo worked in the luxury product sales industry where he acquired experience in personal and corporate selling, clienteling, and sales training. Upon graduation, Hugo plans to utilize his MBA to pursue a career in sponsorship sales and brand marketing.

Lindsay delaMontaigne
Originally from San Diego, California, Lindsay attended the UCLA and obtained a degree in Psychology.  She competed on the cross-country team for her first year at UCLA and was named Most Valuable Freshman. With such passion for the sport, she continued to stay involved by coaching high school cross-country and track.  Upon graduation, she served as a wellness educator and event coordinator for the non-profit organization HealthCorps, founded by Dr. Oz in Phoenix, AZ.  Upon graduation from the SDSU Sports MBA Program, Lindsay hopes to either work with endurance sports or pursue a career in collegiate athletics.

Justin Elliott
Justin Elliott was born and raised in Fremont, California. While in college at UC San Diego, Justin was captain of the Ultimate Disc team, and worked extensively in Intramural Sports. After graduating with a degree in Management Science, Justin was hired in the Sports department at NBC San Diego as a writer/editor/producer. Combining the technical skills of the Sports MBA with his experience in sports broadcasting, Justin would like to develop/acquire new content for a sports network.

Elissa Glick
Elissa Glick was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA.  She graduated from the University of California at Davis in 2005 with a degree in English and a minor in Sports Psychology.  While attending UC Davis, Elissa was a member of the UC Davis women’s club water polo team.  After graduating Elissa moved to San Francisco and began a career in finance with Smith Barney; she moved to Credit Suisse in 2009 where she remained until joining the 2012 cohort.  When she has completed the Sports MBA program, Elissa has aspirations to work in sports marketing or community relations for a team or league.

Jason Goldstein
Jason Goldstein was born and raised in New York City. He graduated Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in 2007, where he majored in Business Management while holding a minor in Economics. While attending Quinnipiac, Jason worked at ESPN covering college football. Prior to enrolling at SDSU, Jason worked as a Marketing Associate at TheLadders.com headquarters in NYC, where he was responsible for managing all Affiliate Marketing programs and helped launch the company's official Twitter page. Upon completion of the SDSU Sports MBA program, Jason intends to work in the field of social media marketing. He is currently serving as a social media intern in the Action Sports division of Wasserman Media Group.

Andrew Hannigan
Andrew Hannigan was born and raised in Swarthmore, PA.  He attended Georgetown University, earning a degree in Economics and English.  While at Georgetown, he interned with the marketing department of D.C. United of Major League Soccer.  After graduation, he worked as a financial analyst for the Department of the Army and as an account manager for Citi Prepaid Services.  Since arriving at SDSU, Andrew has worked with Soccer United Marketing, assisting in partnership marketing activation. Upon completion of his MBA, Andrew hopes to work in the marketing and sponsorship field.

Eric Haynie
Eric Haynie was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO.  He graduated in 2005 from Point Loma Nazarene University with a degree in Business Administration.  At Point Loma, he competed on the nationally ranked University Golf Team.  After graduation, Eric worked for Taylormade Adidas Golf Company in the Customer Service group and finished as a Strategic Account Representative.  After earning his Sports Management MBA, Eric hopes to work for collegiate athletics or marketing properties like IMG College or Learfield Sports.

Jonny Holmes
Jonny Holmes was born and raised in Bountiful, Utah.   He received a degree in Accounting from the University of Utah in 2010. Jonny served a two-year church mission in Uruguay.   During his time at the University of Utah, Jonny worked in the accounting department for Oakland Construction and for the athletic department at the University of Utah.  He hopes to work in professional sports preferably Major League Baseball or the NBA.

Ryan Kaltenbach
Ryan Kaltenbach was born and raised in San Diego, CA.  He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001 with a degree in Psychology.  After graduation Ryan served a 2 year full-time mission for his church in London, England.  For the past 6 years, Ryan has run a nutritional business with USANA Health Sciences. Ryan's professional interests lie in social media, marketing, and sponsorship.

Nathan Kassalow
Nathan Kassalow grew up in Northern New Jersey. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2008 with a degree in Biology with concentration in Neurobiology and Physiology. During his time at school Nathan was active in a number of student organizations including the University’s Marching Band and basketball Pep Band. Before SDSU, Nathan worked for a company that manages data for National Institutes of Health funded clinical trials. He hopes to apply to the skills and knowledge gained from the program to a career in operations in professional sports, or business development and consulting.

Rachel Katz
Rachel Katz was raised in Oak Park, IL and was most recently living in Chicago. She graduated with a degree in Psychology from Northwestern University in 2010. While in school, Rachel worked for Wells Fargo in the corporate compliance department of their insurance division. She then worked for the Chicago Blackhawks during the Stanley Cup finals. Rachel hopes to use her MBA to pursue a career in marketing and event planning within the sports industry.

Jared Mathes
Jared Mathes grew up in Liberty, MO.  He received a degree in Psychology with a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership at William Jewell College.  Prior to enrolling at San Diego State, Jared interned for the Kansas City Brigade in the Arena Football League.  He also worked for Vanguard Companies in the corrugate display industry.  After completing his Sports MBA, Jared plans on pursuing a career in player development for a professional sports organization or marketing in the Action Sports Industry.

Jamie McIntyre
Jamie grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and attended undergrad at Dickinson State University in North Dakota.  While at DSU, she completed both her Business Administration and Exercise Science degree and was a member of the Women’s Softball team.  She interned for two years as the Assistant Sports Information Director for Dickinson State University.  After graduation she worked as a Personal Trainer for World Health in Calgary.  She is interested in a wide variety of sports and plans to use her MBA degree to help pursue a career in sports marketing or brand management.

Ryan Merz
Ryan Merz is from Yakima, Washington. After three years of service in the U.S. Army, he earned Bachelors' degrees in Political Science from the University of Washington and Law & Justice from Central Washington University.  He also completed a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Boise State University. He has 5 years of work experience as a compliance auditor and inventory specialist with Coca-Cola, and 3 years experience in the loss prevention field.  Ryan is particularly interested in college athletics, but is keeping himself open to all opportunities while completing his Sports MBA at SDSU.

Jenn Null
Jenn Null is interested in the branding, marketing and event management of various sports entities and sports performance companies. She is currently interning with the SWA in the SDSU Athletic Department, and working with the Competitions Manager at USA 7s Rugby. Jenn has worked as a Marketing Manager for over 5 years in the business to business sector, and has extensive experience in strength and fitness training through CrossFit, Starting Strength and USA Track and Field. Jenn graduated from Temple University, with a degree in Communications and Advertising, and is looking to use her MBA enhance her skills from her previous experience while pursuing a career in the sports world.

Hugo Ramirez
Born in the Mexican state of Jalisco and raised in Venice, California, Hugo Ramirez has seen the world through two cultures and two languages. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from San Diego State University.  Before being accepted to graduate school, Hugo worked in the real estate and wireless industries.  With the knowledge and skillset gained through the Sports MBA program, Hugo hopes to gain a position with an international sports organization developing marketing strategy for the Hispanic market.

Jamarl Rodgers
J. Rodgers was born in Nuremburg, Germany and grew up in North Carolina. He graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Math and then went on to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where he double majored in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.  J. then received his law degree from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio and subsequently passed the Ohio bar exam.  J. is interested in professional basketball and football operations, university compliance and entertainment management.

Gavin Tong
Gavin Tong grew up in San Diego, California and graduated with a degree in Economics and a minor in Environmental Systems from UC San Diego.  He also studied abroad for six months at the University of Hong Kong, China during his senior year of undergraduate study.  While a lifelong fan of San Diego's professional teams, his interest in sports business intensified while completing an internship with Intrepid Cycling Equipment and volunteering with the San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation.  Upon completion of the SDSU Sports MBA program, Gavin hopes to have a career with professional sports in the international realm.

Mara Weinberg
Mara Weinberg was born in Winnipeg, Canada. She graduated from the University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business earning a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with honors while double majoring in Finance and International Business. While in school, Mara coached several basketball teams, including head coaching for the Winnipeg region of Special Olympics. She worked as a marketing/sales intern for a Minor League Baseball organization in Winnipeg in 2008. After completing her undergraduate degree, Mara worked as an Investment Analyst. Upon graduation from the Sports MBA program, Mara hopes to pursue a career in the accounting/financing department of a professional team.

Danielle Werner
Danielle Werner was raised in Annapolis, Maryland and earned her B.S. in Business Management from Stony Brook University. While at Stony Brook, Danielle was a four year member and three year captain of the Women's Varsity Lacrosse Team. After graduation, she pursued her M.A. in Corporate Communications from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. She has previously worked for the Stony Brook and Duquesne athletic departments. Currently, she is interning for Competitor Group Inc., in the department of sponsorship sales and activation. Upon graduation from San Diego State University, Danielle wishes to pursue a career in collegiate athletic development or corporate sponsorships.

Kelley Winn
Kelley Winn was born and raised in Denver, Colorado.  She is a graduate of Stanford University, where she received a bachelor's degree in American History as well as a minor in Human Biology.  During her time at Stanford, she spent three years as an intern in the athletic department.  She also spent two summers working for the United States Olympic Committee, during which time she played an integral role in preparing athletes for the Beijing and Vancouver Games.  Upon graduation from the SDSU Sports MBA Program, Kelley hopes to pursue a career in partnership marketing or brand consulting.

Daniel Zaragoza
Daniel Zaragoza was born and raised in Mexico City. He graduated from the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Ciudad de México with a B.A. degree in International Relations. After graduation, Daniel worked for two years at a physical conditioning center as an Administrative Manager. He believes that the San Diego State University Sports MBA Program will help him to reach his ultimate dream: a successful career in boxing promotion.

Paul Zickler
Paul Zickler grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from Royal Roads University.  Paul has an extensive background in research, professional sales, and marketing.  He worked as a researcher/consultant and professional key account manager for small and medium sized companies as well as Fortune 500 companies. Upon completion of the Sports MBA Program at San Diego State University, Paul will pursue a career within the NHL.

Cristi Zuk
Cristi is currently interning with Wasserman Media Group in Social Media; upon completion of her Sports MBA, she hopes to pursue a career in the sports marketing field in brand marketing, account management, or consulting for action sports or professional hockey. Last year, Cristi had the opportunity to accomplish one of her lifelong dreams when she was a part of the Commercial Rights Management team for the 2010 Olympic Games. Prior to that, Cristi spent four years working in the Customer Business Development division of Kraft foods as an Account Manager and Sales Representative. Cristi completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the Edwards School of Business, graduating in 2006 with a major in Marketing. Cristi was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, but now calls Vancouver, BC home.

Greg Zweig 
Greg Zweig was born and raised in the Bay Area.  He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2004 with a degree in Music Business.  While at USC, he worked for Silverback Artist Management as a Tour Promotions Coordinator for bands such as Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, and Long Beach Dub All-Stars.  Upon graduation, Greg moved to San Diego and began work in sales in the mortgage sector before deciding to pursue a career in Action Sports.  He has since worked for Active.com, Liquid Force Wakeboards, and most recently, Bamboo Sk8. There, he oversaw the creation of the company’s longboard skateboard division.  After earning his Sports MBA, Greg hopes to continue his career in the action sports industry.
