About Us

Success Enabled Pilots (SEP) Flight Club was established in the fall semester of 2006. We are a leadership/academic organization through San Diego State University set out to develop the qualities expected of professional pilots to include:

  • Leadership
  • Time Management
  • Flight Experience
  • Aeronautical Knowledge

Meetings:

SEP meetings are a place where pilots and aviation enthusiasts can come to share knowledge and experiences about flying. Throughout the semester we discuss topics such as flight planning, flight safety, aircraft controls and aerodynamics, weather conditions, aviation communication, enrolling in a flight school, military aviation careers, and skydiving to name a few. Our goal as an organization is to be the #1 go-to flight resource for anyone interested in aviation.

Retreats:

Once or twice a semester, as a club, we plan retreats to awesome destinations that our very own pilots fly us to! Sometimes they are day trips and other times over night stays depending on the distance. This is a great time for our members to bond and get hands on experience of what it's like to be in the cockpit.

Events:

During the semester we also get together off campus as a club to take part in a host of different activities such as, but not limited to, attending air shows, Red Bull Air Races, social events, and charity events.

FAQs

Do I need to be a pilot to join?

Nope! Our club is open to anyone with an interest in aviation whether it be military, commercial, or general aviation. Pilot or not, if you have a passion for aviation this is the right club for you!

I'm interested, how do I learn more about what SEP has to offer?

Contact one of our officers listed on the members page and ask away. We are more than happy to take any of your questions.

How much are club dues?

$25. This covers your club T-Shirt and a portion of the gas for the flights we go on.

Does SEP fundraise?

Absolutely. Throughout the semester our marketing chair sets up fundraisers that generate proceeds which help fund a portion of our flight costs, since as you may or may not know, flying isn't cheap!

How do I sign up?

Download and print the membership application to the right of this page and bring it with you to one of our meetings. That's it! Easy huh?
