and

Sustainability

The Environmental Studies and Sustainability major and the Environment and Society minor are designed for students interested in an interdisciplinary approach to sustainability and the environment.  These programs prepare students for careers or graduate study in public policy, law, and activism, among others.

The major is currently in the SDSU Catalog under Social Science:  Emphasis in Environmental Studies.  It consists of 33 upper division units, including a 9-unit required core, a 9-unit distribution requirement, and a 15-unit interdisciplinary focus.  Students are encouraged to design a focus to meet their own interests.

The minor is currently in the SDSU Catalog under Interdisciplinary Studies.  It consists of 15 units, including a 6-unit required core and 9 units of electives.

There is more information about the major and the minor on the Environmental Studies and Sustainability web page.

There are many other opportunities to study the environment and sustainability at SDSU.  The College of Arts and Letters programs are described on the CAL web page.  Other environmental majors include Environmental Engineering and Environmental Science.
