Help Restore Lake Murray Shoreline
Please notify Eric Bowlby to sign up for up-coming events.
Help remove the invasive tamarisk weed, which will help native plant
species propagate and help restore a more natural habitat on the shores
of
Lake Murray. This is an on-going job. We remove these noxious invasive
plant species to prevent them from taking over even more of the
surrounding native habitats and to give our native plants a chance to
propagate and re-establish themselves. We often combine our exotic plant
removal with plantings of
appropriate native vegetation... to help the native restoration process
along." Please see our progress map on this website. Please call
or
e-mail Eric Bowlby to be notified of future date(s) and times for this
project.
DIRECTIONS: I-8 to Lake Murray Blvd. exit, north to Kiowa St. (left at
the top of the hill). Enter "Mission Trails Regional Park".
Follow the
lake road to the main parking lot and meet at boat dock.
