SAN DIEGO

Sunny Southern California's Finest City

San Diego County is a collection of communities with a population of 2.6 million people, and San Diego is the seventh largest city in the U.S. Situated in the southwestern coastal tip of the United States, San Diego is approximately two hours from Los Angeles and only twenty minutes from Mexico.

San Diego is known for its temperate climate—the average year round is 74°F/23°C. (Average high in July is 77°F/25°C and 65°F/18°C in January.) There are many beaches in San Diego, and plenty of water sports such as surfing, sailing, fishing and diving. Drive a few miles, and the view changes from beaches to desert to high mountains. Hiking and bicycling are very popular here, as are snow sports such as skiing and snow-boarding. It rarely rains during most years, and days are sunny and clear.
