In this course we explore cultural patterns that shaped and molded modern Russian’s thinking, attitudes and behavior. We examine cultural myths and “icons’ that constellate the Russians’ view of themselves and their country. We learn about both the formation of the culture and recent cultural changes. Readings in Russian and in English. Films with and without English subtitles.
