What is LInk Crew?

Link Crew (part of the parent organization, Boomerang Project) is an organization that is designed to benefit the school by increasing a sense of community, improve the school climate, and successfully transition freshmen and new students to the Madison Campus. Students who participate in Link Crew benefit on a personal level and develop interpersonal, academic, and social skills.

Link Crew Leaders (11th and 12th graders) are highly trained peer coaches who work with their freshmen advisory classes on a weekly basis. They conduct lessons that promote working together, using available resources, making choices, searching for excellence, goal setting, and peer pressure.

Madison High School has had a successful Link Crew program since 2003, and is on their second graduating class of students who were linked as freshmen. For more information about Link Crew at Madison, contact Rachel Rice (rrice@sandi.net) or Erica Strauss (ejohnson2@sandi.net).

Rachel Rice

Rachel Rice has taught English and Yearbook for the past six years at Madison High School. Rachel was trained for Link Crew in 2003 where she piloted the program at MHS. She feels that Link Crew is critical for the development of 9th graders as they evolve as high school students.
