Looking Down Harrison
Looking up Harrison
Harrison from Dearhorn

These days it's very hard to believe that anyone ever took stock over Harrison Pass. Probably the first recorded crossing of this pass was in an article by Howard Longley (see Longley Pass) in the May 1895 issue of the Sierra Club Bulletin. The June 1904 issue has an article by Robert Pike where in he describes taking stock from south to north over Harrison and the June 1905 issue has an article by Force Parker describing a north to south crossing with stock. In his article Pike comments that "we were strongly impressed with the fact that places called "passes" differ widely in character"

Both articles are well worth reading. Map.
