| This is known as the "chute" on the Colby pass trail. This very steep drop of about 150' occurs after the west bound Colby pass trail has climbed about 1000' and 1.4 miles from Junction Meadow.The east side of the Colby pass trail is in very poor condition (a trail crew was beginning work on this trail in August 2007). The take off point for a route into Kaweah Basin via Picket Creek is about another 1.4 miles and 500' further along the trail. |
