Summary:
This tape is a virtual duplicate of the first two-thirds of Tape Q627 of an interview conducted by Julia Hare of KSFO Radio in San Francisco with Jim Jones and Mike Prokes. A duplicate of the last third of the tape may be found – in a less-carefully recorded format – at Tape Q727 .
There are several differences between this and Q 627. The latter is more complete in one respect, in that it is the tape of all the exchanges between the radio hostess and her two guests, including the off-mike conversations during commercial breaks, when Ms. Hare mentions what they will talk about in the next segment. However, this tape includes several minutes of conversation which were lost on 627, due to its subsequent use to record a telephone conversation, as well as another minute lost on 627 when side one ended and before side two begins.
FBI Summary:
None
Differences with FBI Summary:
There is nothing to compare between the two summaries, since the FBI did not write anything for this, or 64 other tapes which bear the notation "Tapes Not Summarized." These tapes seems to have little on them which the FBI could use for its purposes of investigating crimes arising from the Jonestown tragedy, but then again, that describes many other tapes as well. The difference seems to be that one or two FBI agents catalogued this set of tapes – as evidenced by the typewriter used in writing the reports – and that generally, the transcriptions were made early in the process, before someone may have asked for greater detail in the reports.
