This Website's Story

"Once upon a time, there was this terribly impressive assignement called ED810YourWeb that kept paralyzing this un-webby (and most webless) student. Fortunately, fairy Godmother Template came to the rescue."

Fall 2004, the beginning of a new adventure named "Travel into EdTec." This website, an exercise for ED810, has helped me toy around with webdesign and has prompted me to get on the drawing board for my professional website. The links on your left will answer questions such as who I am (Background), what my philosophy about education, curriculum and technology is and what I hope to do post-SDSU/USD program (Training). You will also find a few fun facts sprinkled around, of eclectic things that feed my curiosity (such as below).

Culture News

This "Introduction to Native American Culture" refers to a variety of NA Cultures, past and present. Just what is Native American Culture? The answer to this is vast and varied. Talk This Way: Apple redefined the desktop, laptop, and MP3 player. The next insanely great thing: an LCD arm cuff that includes a PDA, wireless Internet, a mini iPod, and, of course, a phone. The iPhone bracelet's motion sensor allows you to scroll through apps and files with the flick of a wrist; its clasp holds a digicam for use during video calls; and its wireless ear clip lets you listen and speak to callers. And everything can be done via voice recognition or touchscreen. Talk about the right call. The story continues at : http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/11.04/fetishwish.html

Eco News U.S. Western Wilderness: Thousands of acres of private lands remain in our congressionally designated wilderness areas. These lands are at risk of development --- development which will destroy the wilderness character of the surrounding protected public lands. By purchasing these lands and returning them to public ownership The Wilderness Land Trust helps ensure that all generations of Americans will enjoy an enduring resource of wilderness. Since 1992 The Wilderness Land Trust has purchased 181 private parcels in 30 Western wilderness areas, saving more that 8,000 acres. For more information: www.wildernesslandtrust.org

Food News What's Hot Now : With downtown and Hillcrest in the midst of urban renewal, new restaurants seem to spring up daily. The most common theme: sushi, with no fewer than 17 places serving the Japanese delicacy in these hot zip codes. As most sushi lovers know, there is good sushi and there is bad sushi, and nobody wants to get caught eating the bad stuff. We sought out and rated some of the hottest sushi spots in downtown and Hillcrest. Some fare better than others, but each of these sushi spots has something special to offer.
