You are cordially invited to participate as a sponsor in the Sixth Annual Statistical Careers Day to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at San Diego State University. This year we are honored to have Dr. Hal Stern of the University of California, Irvine, as our guest speaker. Our past Careers Days have been a great success: over 100 high school, undergraduate and graduate students, from San Diego County, and Los Angles and Nevada areas, attended each year. Their polled responses were overwhelmingly positive! The funds donated by corporate sponsors for student lunches and prizes are a very important part of making this annual event possible.

SDASA Careers Day is free to exhibitors, but we are seeking corporate sponsors for the event to help defray costs. Careers Day is designed to attract promising students to the field of statistics and to provide an opportunity for students to meet with corporate representatives to discuss job opportunities. The presentations at this year's event will address issues such as: what do statisticians do, where can they get jobs, and what skills do they need to learn in order to gain employment in this area. This is an opportunity to fill current positions and make contact with future statisticians.

Corporate sponsorships start at $250 and are used to fund the cost of the speaker, the free student lunches and prizes for students that participate in the poster competition. Sponsors will be recognized at the beginning of the morning and afternoon sessions. In addition, each student will be provided with a folder - sponsors can provide handouts or brochures for these folders. At a sponsorship level of $500, we will announce the sponsor of each prize during the student poster competition and we invite a representative from the corporation to present the prize.

We are currently preparing a website to advertise Statistical Careers Day 2005 and would like to add your name to our list of sponsors. We greatly appreciate and will acknowledge your support on this website. A write-up of last year's event is available at: Report. To be included as a sponsor, we would need notice of your support by March 1, 2005.
