Project Directors
Dr. Terry Cronan received her B.A. and M.A. from San Diego State University. In 1985 she received her Ph.D. in Ecological Psychology from Michigan State University. She has focused her research on developing, implementing, and evaluating empowerment based interventions. She has worked with people who have musculoskeletal disorders since 1985.
Dr. Heather Walen, an alumni of SDSU, received her Ph.D. in Social and Developmental Psychology with an emphasis in aging at Brandeis University in 1999. Her primary interests include the relationship between social support, control beliefs and health behaviors (like exercise) on physical health and psychological well-being in adults. She hopes her research endeavors will increase our knowledge about how to age successfully.
