The Many Faces of
Edward Milton Cobbs

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ed

3 generations of Edward Milton Cobbs . . .
And then there was but one.

On February 26, 2001, our "best man", Ed
passed away. As reflected in this poem,
our friendship was a gift that we cherished.

The Miracle of Friendship

There's a miracle called Friendship
That dewells with the heart.
And you don't know how it happens,
Or how it gets its start . . .
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a special lift.
And you realize that friendship,
Is God's most precious gift.

The photos and captions that follow
reflect that friendship.

Here's to you,
Sergeant Cobbs of the U.S. Marines!

Trust me, Carol.
I don't lie.

David left with Mildred
hours ago.

It was a red convertible
with a couple of other lovelies
in the back seat.

David said to tell you,
that he was going on maneuvers.

That reminds me of the time, I was
driving the Bug down a dark and
desolate road.

It was 3 a.m., when I slammed on the brakes
and yelled -- Oh!! My GOD!! A TRAIN!!

Sue woke from a dead sleep in the back seat
yelling -- What? What?

I had already continued driving normal and
answered --You must be having a
nightmare, honey!

Now, that's what I call funny.

When the Lieutenant asked
for my religion, I said -- Oakite.

I'm just an old Sergeant of
Marines, who believes in the
Power of the Oak.

It brought me home from Korea
and Vietnam.

You take your forces
up on the right.

I'll lead my troops up on the
left.

Together we will have those
Harbison Canyon rabbits
on the run.

This is the face of almost
37 years of wedded bliss.

It's the tartan that binds.

enjoys a Grandpa break
with one of his pretty grandbabies.

It's just good genes.
