Ruth Fravel's private violin instruction website

Problem, Need, or Opportunity

A small, start-up business website provides opportunities for expansion in clientele. 
A website will allow individuals to view Ruth Fravel's resume and consider what she 
has to offer before contacting for a consultation.




Audience

The main audience will be parents of children or youth who desire one-on-one instruction. 
However, the audience is not limited to parents, but will include information 
about playing the violin for youth to enjoy.



Users Needs

The user mentioned many things they wanted to see on a the website:

1. The major areas that the users wanted to see were information about the instructor
		containing personal biography, experiencece, mission statement, vision & contact 
		information.
2. The users wanted to know information on upcoming events in the local area pertaining
		to performances and events related to violin instruction.
3. The users wanted links connecting them to instruction method and educational rescources.
4. The only media the users were interested in were photos of the instructor teaching.

The three most important needs of users were information on the instructor, contact 
information, and links to the teaching method.

The solution to these needs will be provided by a page about the instructor with 
a vision/mission statement, list of experience, links to specifics about the teaching
method, and her contact information. 




Environment

The user will most likely be accessing the site through their home comupter. The site 
will not have any videos or animation. Thus, the user will not need any plug-ins.
Since there will be photos, it would not hurt to have a high level modem or cable connection 
that help improve downloading time. A 4.0 browser will also help improve downloading 
time for the user. 

Resources and Limitations

The resources needed for the website will be done via email & on the phone with the business
owner. Photos will be emailed. Limitations could be that the source of the information is 
in Colorado. However, the instructor uses email quite frequently.

General Solution

A website for Ruth Fravel's start-up business will be a source of information for her potential
clients who are looking for a well suited match for their child. It will also provide helpful
information for those who are not familiar with the violin.
