ITS Update
- SS-2260 is a new smart classroom coming on line in Spring
- AH-1120 is still under construction and plans to be complete by Fall, 2012 with the possibility of an early completion by Spring 2012. The room will have a 32-seat capacity and will still be available for meetings, but will have to work around the academic class schedule.
- 12 trailers will be coming to campus in the Spring and Summer of 2012 to be ready for the fall semester and the demolition of Storm/Nasitir Halls. Trailer locations are yet to be determined.
- If budget permits, ITS will update all the smart classrooms in the EBA building as their next project.
- As part of the Fast Track Course Design Institute, 14 additional classes are being migrated to online courses.
- Blackboard 9.1 is still in the testing phase. If there are any faculty or staff who would like to meet with ITS staff regarding Blackboard 9.1, email James Frazee, or contact him with questions.
ITSO Update
Felecia Vlahos reminded all present about the upcoming Milestone Review of the EPO Process. Each IT Manager should send their EPO process documentation and their last 3 server reports to Felecia. She also reminded IT Managers that they should be taking a regular snapshot report of their servers and be saving these reports. This way, if their server gets corrupted, these reports are still available to show the server conditions prior to the corruption.
ITSO will be reviewing 4 more Security Plan processes on campus in the coming months:
- Password/Account Management
- Patch Management
- Find SSN
- One of the Server processes.
It was announced that Gene LeDuc is the new IT Security Officer on campus and is currently involved in hiring a replacement for his previous position.
McAfee
There is a new grant number for McAffee. If you need access, contact Celia Putnam (Chavez).
All currents versions of McAffee have been put on ROHAN.
Next MWSSLS meeting will be December 15, 2011.
