ITS Update
The Storm Hall renovation is now on hold and classes will be continuing in the building. ITS will now be upgrading several of these classrooms.

The Fast Track Course Design Institute is aimed at lower-division and upper-division GE courses that are gateway courses or bottleneck courses that meet minimum enrollment targets of approximately 70 students per course. Ten courses have been selected to be resdesigned for online courses next summer.

Academic Affairs Update
John Ross would like all the updated milestones turned in by the end of the month.

CSU Systemwide Report IS Audit
Topic postponed until January meeting.

Qualtrics
No one from the survey committee was available for a report on Qualtrics. If anyone has feedback regarding the survey software, please contact Carol Tohsaku or Rofiee Haron. The free trial accounts will expire at the end of December.

Email Transition
An email will be sent out by Rich Pickett regarding the migration to Google. The current plan is to migrate to Google for email mid-term (end of February). There are some licensing issues coming up later this year if this migration doesn't happen at that time. The initial phase will be for email only and Meeting Maker will migrate at a later date.

Since we could be 35 days away from migration, the goal is to train the trainers. Documentation will be send out so everyone knows what needs to be done to preparation for the change. ETS has cleaned up mail accounts and reduced the accounts from approximately 6000 to approximately 4500. The migration is planned to take place over a 24 hour time period, starting on a Friday, so that any problems encountered can be resolved over the weekend.

Email addresses will remain the same - user@mail.sdsu.edu. After migration, mail will be send to both Google and Mirapoint, so users can still access their mail the old way on a temporary basis. The official contacts for the email transition is Connie English cenglish@mail.sdsu.edu and Chris Clements cclement@mail.sdsu.edu. Anyone that wants a gmail test account now can contact the ETS Help Desk at 45261.

SSL Certificates
We can now issue SSL certificates through InCommon. The Chancellor's Office paid for the license. Full instructions on the process for requesting certificates will be forthcoming to the sdsu-cert and SysAdmins email lists. If certs are needed immediately, send a request to security@sdsu.edu. Certificates can be issued for 3 years.

Training
There is currently no site license for training. Quickstart has a discount program for SDSU of 10% off for one attendee with the discount increasing with more attendees. Notify Diana Osborn, if there is interest in Quickstart , If there is enough interest, training could be consolidated to get greater discount.

Training is also available through the CSU for a decent price. Go to http://thesource.calstate.edu for information.

Next meeting will be January 21st, 2010 in EBA-410.
