Meeting in AH-1120 at 10 a.m.
Diana Osborn, ChairChancellor’s Office Sponsored Mac Purchase
The Chancellor’s Office will be making a bulk order from Apple (equipment and software). Purchasing has not yet notified the campus of how they would like the paperwork submitted. The paperwork is due to Purchasing by April 23rd. If you submit an order before we get the information from Purchasing, be sure to note that the purchase is through the consolidated Chancellor’s Office purchase. The Apple maintenance program can also be ordered through this bulk purchase.SUN Matching Grant Program
SUN is offering a matching grant program, discounting by half their hardware and software.Meeting Maker Update
The new version of Meeting Maker has issues with Leopard. Version 8.7.1 fixes the issues with Leopard and is due out at the end of May. To avoid multiple updates on client machines, Meeting Maker will not be upgraded until 8.7.1 is released. Version 8.7.2, which is due out in the 4th quarter, is a server upgrade only and should not affect the clients.ITSO Marketing Plan
This discussion has been tabled until the next meeting.EndNote
A current quote was received and been given to Ethan Singer via John Ross for possible funding. There are currently 146 reported EndNote users on campus (this is the number that is known by the technical support personnel and is probably a lower number than what is actually on university computers). Please forward the number of users interested in obtaining EndNote for each area to Diana Osborn as soon as possible.Acrobat Professional
Please send numbers of interested users in obtaining an Acrobat Professional license. This number should include labs. The price has not yet been negotiated, but is estimated to be around $20 per license.EPO
An email is being sent to the Deans today regarding the timetable for EPO. EPO should be implemented by the end of May. Implementation includes having an EPO server, the client on labs, faculty machines, etc., and someone monitoring the logs. Patch management implementation will be the next phase in system security following the EPO implementation. Price quote for Patchlink, the chosen patch management software, has been forwarded to Ethan Singer's office.New Horizons
There are no Microsoft training vouchers available to use with this vendor.LMS
After the RFP process through the Chancellor’s Office, the LMS’ chosen were Angel LMS by Angel Learning and Moodle Rooms implementation and support of the open source Moodle LMS. Campuses choosing to use Blackboard will need to contract separately with them. SDSU will continue to support Blackboard at this time.Vortex Class
Vortex is offering a 3-day Vista troubleshooting class at the end of April.Vista
Confirmation has not yet been received from Rich Pickett that the campus can get out of test mode on Vista and start implementation. When confirmation is received, Celia Chavez has 5,000 keys to get started. Keys previously handed out are still valid and will remain so. Vista Ultimate has a DVD encoder.Windows 2008 Server
Celia Chavez now has MAK keys. See Celia for keys and media. To obtain Windows 2008 Server, you must have a current Windows 2003 server license or have proof of prepay for Windows 2008.Work at Home Software
Work at home software is available at the bookstore for $9.99 per software title. Project, Visio Pro, and Vista Ultimate have now been added to the list of software available.Next Meeting
