Meeting in AH-1120 at 10 a.m.
Diana Osborn, ChairDeep Freeze
Deep Freeze has been purchased with license keys and John Ross is working on a distribution plan.Software Survey
The revamp of the Software Survey is in process.Parallels
Diana requested all department contacts send her the quantity of computers that want Parallels installed. Everyone was reminded that if a computer is running Parallels, that computer must have purchased an original copy of MS Windows. Those computers using the boot camp method of running MS Windows do NOT need to purchase an original copy of MS Windows. **Correction 9/18/07** - MAC OS is a qualifying operation system so there is no need purchase a windows license for work or home computers (per Taylor Kao of Microsoft).Apple Support Options
The information Tony Graham from Apple presented last month on new Apple Support Options is being reviewed in regards to how it fits into the AMP and VMP programs.
Patch Management Update
There will be one more presentation from the vendors in September. This will be on specific questions, so the committee can make the subjective report requested by the IT Managers. Shavlik Technologies purchased St. Bernard and is currently only offering Windows products. They plan to offer other platforms in the future.EndNote
There is a new report for IT Managers being worked on, as there was some confusion on what this product does.McAfee
The plan is to extend the contract for the Anti-virus product to correspond with the end of the three-year contract SDSU has for the Anti-spyware product and to have a committee convene before that expiration date and review both types of products for a new contract.Adobe/Macromedia Products
Dan Steward is handling the distribution of media and keys for the recent acquisition of Macromedia products. Please contact him if you are still in need of these items.Final items/announcements
