AMP Program
Celia Chavez reminded everyone that the AMP Program deadline is coming quickly. All colleges/areas renewing need to send their chargeback account number and confirmation of the number of computers Angie Emerick-Young of UCO by Monday August 29, 2005. Her email address is aemerick@mail.sdsu.edu.

AMP program - Now is the time to sign up for the Apple Maintenance Program (AMP). This only happens once a year for a yearly fee of $20 per license.  This enrollment period in the AMP program is once a year on Sept. 1st, no exceptions.  There are no quarterly enrollments. Anyone not signing up now will have to wait a whole year to enroll their computers. Items to remember:

The following departments/colleges have sent their information as of today: Univ. Advancement, Career Services, International Student Center, and Busines Services. Everyone else please send in your information ASAP.

SPSS
Celia stated that SPSS 11.0.3 is not compatible with Tiger. SPSS 13 for Windows will no longer have demo unlicensed software on their CD when distributed.

Solaris 10
Solaris 10 is now available on a DVD and can be obtained from Celia.

McAfee Update
The lastest version of Virex for Mac OS has a problems with Tiger 10.4. The auto update and scan in Virex 7.6 doesn't work with Tiger. Version 7.2 will run on Tiger, if you only use manual scans.

Celia has sent out an update to those who went to the EPO Training. Cyndi Chie will see about including a McAfee notice for students in their welcome email, after Celia sends her the verbage. Colby will be the contact for McAfee security information with regards to a public service type announcement in the Daily Aztec.

Anti-Spyware Committee
Diana reported that the Anti-Spyware committee was meeting and reporting their findings to the Security committee. When a decision to purchase is made, the discussion will return to the MWSSLS committee. Please contact Darrell Irwin, chair, for any input.

Workstation Subcommittee
It is time to reconvene the Workstation subcommittee for the annual review. Don McKee will act as chair. Please email Diana, if you would like to be on the committee.

Patch Management
According to Diana, St. Bernard is still having problems, as the servers in BAM are still not working consistently. And installations at this point appear to give an error message all the time. Some machines show up later, some do not. The vendor and a group of campus technicians are looking into the problems. We are one year into the contract. Possible replacements being tested are WSUS, Patch Link, and ZenWorks. The Patch Mangement committee will be reconvened shortly.

508/Executive Order 926
On January 1, 2005, the Chancellor's Office issued executive Order 926. The order states that the CSU has to obey the 508 laws including good faith efforts ralated to hardware and software purchases. There will be a campus designee who will be the sign off that best efforts were made. Currently, the designee has not been named as yet. In the interim, Scott burns will be handling this. Also, Ellene Gibbs, Mary Shoji, Cyndi Chie, and John Ross will be meeting on these issues.

Next MWSSLS meeting will be on September 15, 2005 at 10 a.m. in LL-430.
