Meeting in AH-1120 at 10 a.m.
Diana Osborn, ChairSoftware Suvey
The new Software Survey is now ready for use, though more items will be added as time goes bye. While Categories for each area are Labs, Workstations, and Servers, David will keep a running list of suggestions and corrections for a once or twice a year programming revision. He will continue to refine the process, as he continues to learn. New templates will be in use this summer. David Oehl tested the programming in many browsers and has ironed out the Java hickups. Plans are to migrate the pages to the public account on ROHAN for the survey due this Fall. Then a person, who does not have a survey account, will be able to register on line for one. The October date will continue to be the yearly benchmark for the project. Now, everyone will know missing areas, as well as who is reporting for each area.St. Bernard
Diana is actively testing production and working through the anomolies. We can not browse across campus. The program works, just not the way we had heard that it did. Mark Figueroa, Library, is testing St. Bernard with ghosting images. Others wishing to test, should contact Diana at diana@sciences.sdsu.edu. Please note the server is bernard1.sdsu.edu and UpdateExpert Port is where you will connect for access. Diana will also be setting up a training session on how SDSU will use St. Bernard.McAfee AdHoc Committee
Cyndi Chie is working on a presentation for increasing McAfee licensing to cover students, according to Keith Burt. Celia Chavez received quotes last night for everthing. She requested Home Use corporate version for faculty and staff, including the Viruscan Defense Suite. Diana stated that the dat update on ROHAN is now updated every 2 hours between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Also you can now register for alerts. Celia will resend that information to the MWSSLS mailing list.Webmail on MAIL

Colleges need to respond with any changes) and MiniTab (currently at 100 seats) may be increased to 200 seats. On the Novell License, Diana mentioned that Zenworks, Netmail, and Groupwise are part of the bundle. However, she needs to know the number of workstations covered by Novell in each area. This includes SUSE Enterprise Service and its workstations. Please contact her at diana@sciences.sdsu.edu.
Student Affairs asked for suggestion on obtaining a log file analyzer. Keith Burt suggested a visit to http://www.kiwisyslog.com/ for Kiwi Logfile Viewer, a free Windows application. This site has several free applications (i.e. Kiwi SyslogGen, Kiwi Harvester, Kiwi Syslog Daemon).
