Meeting in AH-1120 at 10 a.m.
Diana Osborn, Chair

McAfee Update
Virex 7.0 for OS X is working fine. Access to this version is available via http or ftp to the ~avir site on rohan.

Standard Software
Because of other committments, the proposed survey of Standard Software has not gone out yet. Diana and Cyndi hope to have it out soon via Email.

Plagiarism
The SDSU site cost for a Turnitin license would be $12,460, if the CSU handles the negotiations. We need numbers of students and faculty interested in this license to justify pursuing it. Please survey your customers and pass numbers on to Diana.

Reference Manager, End Note, and Procite
Same goes for the Citation manager software; We need numbers of students and faculty interested in this license to justify pursuing it. Please survey your customers and pass numbers on to Diana.

Mac OS Training
Carol Phillips announced the current status of a proposed Mac OS 9.x, 10.x, and 10.x Server Training. Response for the OS X Basic Administrator and Troubleshooting session was so strong that it appears we will be offerring this one twice to accommodate everyone. Tony Graham has confirmed dates with us. He provided Carol Tohsaku, Jim Edwards, and Carol Phillips sample documentation to view and it is on par with the Peachpit Press "Visual Quickstart" series of books (i.e. a graphic and a series of steps). Tony will customize this documentation to reflect our requested topics. He will be sending email to Carol Tohsaku and Carol Phillips about the finalized topics and their order in each 4 hr session.

All of the 4 hr sessions will be scheduled as follows:

8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
15 min break
10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

with Tony's Q/A and extra time on computers after each session.

Minimum Workstation Specs
Steve Voelker, chairperson for the sub-committee, spoke on the new recommended minimum workstation specifications. Discussion was held and a few suggestions were made. Corrected copy will be sent to Diana and Carol. PDF and HTML versions will be made available on the web site shortly.

Next MWSSLS meeting will be March 21, 2002 in AH-1120 at 10 a.m.
