Turnitin Software
A letter was sent to all faculty informing them of the availability of the software on a trial basis until May 31, 2002. Requesting that faculty who use it, or a already using it fill out the evaluation. The CSU is considering a system wide licensing of the product and needs feedback.

Citation Managers - Reference Manager, End Note, and Procite
There was no discussion.

Standard Software Survey
Contents of the survey were discussed and input gathered. A revised version of the survey will be presented at the next meeting.

Calendar Software
MeetingMaker was discussed. Information had been given that the contract was renewed for another year. Helen Haberman is the contact person. Suggested that she be invited to present at the next meeting.

Macromedia
CSU has a contract in place, the details are still forthcoming. Macromedia is offering outfitting of a lab with ColdFusion software, training materials, developer licenses, for the purpose of teaching the product. This is being made at a radically reduced price.

AntiVirus Update
A partial list of usage on the campus of the current McAfee product was recieved. The Committee reported that renewal of the current product contract was the best solution for the campus at this time. The process of this renewal is being investigated. Sole Source/Sole Brand documents will be drawn up. Those who wish to purchase Norton may do so under the CSU pricing available through CompuCom

Renewals
Matlab, Minitab: only used in Academic Affairs.
Novell: gathering numbers for the renewal paperwork.

SPAM
The campus lists have been restricted so that only persons who are subscribed to a particular list can post to that list. Historically, the NAC list has been a member of the MWSSLS list. This has been causing a large number of bounce messages when people who are on the MWSSLS list, but not on the NAC list post. From this point on, the NAC list will be removed from the MWSSLS list. Those who are on the NAC list who wish to continue to receive information from MWSSLS will need to subscribe to the list.

Next MWSSLS meeting will be May 16, 2002 in AH-1120 at 10 a.m.
