Journal of Religious & Theological Information

Instructions for Authors

The following instructions provide general information on the preparation and submission of manuscripts for the Journal of Religious & Theological Information.

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Manuscripts should be submitted to the Editor via email, preferably in Microsoft Word format. Send manuscripts to Mark Stover, Editor, JRTI, at mstover AT mail DOT sdsu DOT edu

Instructions for Authors

1. ORIGINAL ARTICLES ONLY.

Submission of a manuscript to this journal represents a certification on the part of the author(s) that it is an original work, and that neither this manuscript nor a version of it has been published elsewhere nor is being considered for publication elsewhere.

2. MANUSCRIPT LENGTH.

Manuscripts should be approximately 2000-8000 words in length. Lengthier manuscripts may be considered, but only at the discretion of the editor.

3. MANUSCRIPT STYLE.

References, citations, and general style of manuscripts for this journal should follow the MLA style. See this linked style sheet for more information on MLA formatting. (A summary of MLA citation formatting is also linked here).

If an author wishes to submit a paper that has been already prepared in another style, he or she may do so. However, if the paper is accepted (with or without reviewer's alterations), the author is fully responsible for reformatting the manuscript in the correct style as indicated above.

4. MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION.

The title of the paper should be informative. The name, designation, affiliation, and address of each author should be given in full, including an email address. The author(s) should only be identified on a separate author/title page, and it should not be possible to identify the author(s) within the body of the manuscript (for refereeing purposes).

The language of publication is English. Papers should be written for an international audience, adopting a straightforward writing style, and avoiding over-long or complex sentence structures.

5. COPYRIGHT.

It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position.
