Welcome to the Management Department

 

Management is defined as the process of administering and coordinating resources in an effective and efficient manner to achieve the goals of an orginization. Managers plan, organize, lead and control:

  • Planning deals with the establishment of goals;

  • Organizing involves the determination of tasks to be done, who will do them, and how they willbe organized;

  • Leading is the function that directs members of a work group to achieve the goals of the organization; and

  • Controlling involves the identification of deviations between planned and actual outcomes of the organization.

Major areas within management include international business, entrepreneurship, human resource management, and corporate governance.

The Management Department is prepared to face these challenges by streamlining its curriculum, research and service. Our offerings are:

  • A Bachelor of Science, with a major in Management and specialization in Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship;

  • A Bachelors of Arts, with a major in International Business (a joint program between the College of Business Administration and the College of Arts and Letters);

  • A Masters of Science in Business Administration (Management);

  • A Masters of Science in Business Administration (Entrepreneurship);

  • A Masters of Science in Business Administration (Human Resource Management); and

  • A Masters of Science in Business Administration (International Business - Offered by the College of Business Administration with a multidisciplinary theme)

Many of these programs have accomplished national rankings. Each program is supported by full-time faculty members and practitioners. Our faculty members publish in top journals in the field, and our lecturers are/were employed by top businesses in the United States. Our goal is to provide a quality education to our students as we embark on our mission of "Leadership for the Global Marketplace."
