Living within the border cities of San Diego and Tijuana, the constant immigration discourse has provoked and shaped my political consciousness. Learning about the dynamics of the U.S.-Mexico border has led me to double major in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies and minor in Latin American Studies at San Diego State University. My determination and perseverance to succeed academically is part of my motivation to continuing my quest for a PhD in Anthropology with specialization on the U.S.-Mexican migration. My research interests include the U.S- Mexican immigration, border politics, the feminization of migration, national and social movements in Latin America, and Mexican politics.
