Hello and thank you for your interest in San Diego State University's new MBA for Executives in Life Sciences, in partnership with Kelley Executive Partners at Indiana University and SDSU College of Sciences. I'm Dr. Gail Naughton, Dean of the College of Business Administration at SDSU.
I'm different from your typical business dean in that I have my Ph.D. in cell biology, and I started a biotech company and took it public in 1988. Our Company brought four products from concept to market both in the US and abroad and through the approval processes I learned firsthand the complexities involved with quality control, regulatory affairs, GMP manufacturing, clinical design and restrictions involved with marketing a FDA-approved product.
Some of the skills you'll learn in this program include negotiating with regulatory agencies, optimizing clinical design for product approval and reimbursement, decision making in establishing pilot and production manufacturing facilities, and leadership in a rapidly changing and competitive life science environment.
San Diego has been named the best city to do biotech, and is home to the most dense cluster of biotech companies of any city in the United States. For the time that you are here, you will be able to learn directly from these leaders and visit their facilities.
We are working to accommodate the busy executive's schedule by providing a large portion of the learning experience online. You also will be provided an executive coach from the life science industry to mentor you throughout the program. This gives you a truly unique opportunity for mentorship and growth as a leader.
