Appointments

After attending an orientation, students should make an appointment to see a Liberal Studies adviser individually. The main purpose of this appointment is to set up an advising file that will be kept in the Liberal Studies Office and used to track the student’s progress through the major. These 30 minute appointments will also provide students an opportunity to ask the kinds of individual questions pertaining to their specific situation that couldn’t be addressed in the group orientation.

Students should bring any relevant materials they have with them to the appointment. This includes transcripts (unofficial is fine) from any other institutions at which they’ve taken classes and, in cases in which the classes aren’t equivalents of SDSU classes, descriptions of those classes.  (To determine if a class from a California community college is equivalent to an SDSU class, check http://www.assist.org )

After the initial advising appointment, students have access to advising through email and walk-in advising.
