Urban Grind – 3797 Park Blvd. - Urban Grind is a wonderful urban addition to Hillcrest's Starbucks dominated coffeehouse scene. Urban Grind provides a minimalist, urban experience replete with art, surprisingly comfortable modern metal & plastic furniture, yummy salads, sandwiches and magical healing tea concoctions.

Buffalo Exchange - 3862 Fifth Ave. – a great place to buy vintage clothing and sell your own clothes for store credit! Some great stuff can be found, if you remember the old adage: “One Man’s Trash, Is another Man’s Treasure”

Rainbow Road - 141 University Ave. – A great place to rent movies and buy tons of LGBT items…everything from stickers to...ahem...lubrication. Oh, that is, if you are OVER 18. J

Hamburger Mary’s - 308 UniversityAve. – One of the GREATEST restaurants ever conceived by man! Great food, cute wait staff, not too expensive, great queer atmosphere and centrally located right off of the 163! David’s Coffeehouse- 3766 Fifth Ave. – Another one of Hillcrest’s many coffeehouses. Situated next to The Brass Rail on 5th Ave. A quaint little place, with a piano in the back, a place to just hang out and relax in the front, and a great outside patio. Go visit them!

The Corvette Diner - 3946 Fifth Ave. - The Corvette Diner offers a tasty way to slip back to a simpler place and time when rock n' roll and golden oldies filled the air. The food is hot, the portions are hearty and the waitresses in poodle skirts and bouffant hairdos have lots of sass. A Corvette convertible is a centerpiece for the restaurant. Its back to the 50's with food, service and atmosphere, unfortunately the prices aren’t from the 50’s so, remember your wallet. Don’t insult the waitresses…if you do…well, I guess I’ll just let you find out for yourself.
