The Poissy Project / Projet Poissy is a bilingual internet site for French Renaissance and Reformation literature, history and culture. It's goal is to provide a cultural archive for students and scholars alike.
We take our title from the Colloquy of Poissy, called by Catherine de Medici in 1561 in an effort to reconcile the opposing Catholic and Protestant forces in France and avert civil war.

The project's components include:

• a history of the Royal Convent at Poissy;
• biographies of significant figures in literature, science, politics, etc;
• short articles on Renaissance art and music;
• literary texts;
• historical documents;
• short essays on major events
• images of events and historical figures;
• links to other Renaissance and French literature sites.
