Dual Masters Program
Dual Master of Arts and
Master of Business Administration (MA/MBA)
San Diego State University offers a dual degree program in Latin
American Studies (MA) and business (MBA). The following is a general
outline of the program. Prospective and current students should
consult the Bulletin of the Graduate Division, 2002-2003, pages
221-222.
In addition for meeting the entrance requirements for the University
and for Latin American Studies, entering students should be proficient
in introductory statistics, basic economics, personal computers,
including word processing and spreadsheets.
In order to receive the MA/MBA degree, students must complete the
following:
1. Eight core business courses (19 units);
2. One course in interpersonal communications (3 units);
3. One course in business environments (3 units);
4. Five required courses in Latin American Studies (15 units);
5. Three electives in Latin American Studies (9 units);
6. Mgmt 797 (Research) and Bus Admin 799A (Thesis).
7. Students must write a thesis.
