All students completing the upper division Kinesiology degree program should:

understand the sociocultural, historical, and philosophical perspectives of human movement within and across diverse cultures, historical periods, and social settings.

 Example  1 Integrate a historical period, event, and/or person important in sport or movement with current sociocultural issues to understand historical antecedents of the discipline and profession of kinesiology. Prepare and present a poster presentation; evaluate presentations of other groups.
 Example  2 Examine critically the intersection of career goals with race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and ability. Written paper or oral presentation based upon reflective analysis; essay exam.
 Example  3 Examine critically the intersection of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and other social issues as they relate to human movement. Conduct original research, written paper utilizing primary and secondary sources.
