Graduation Competency 10

All students completing the upper division Kinesiology degree program should:

be able to use the computer and other technology to support inquiry and professional practice in movement-related fields.

Example 1 Demonstrate use of internet, electronic data bases and standard productivity software programs (including word processing, spreadsheet, statistical package, presentation, database, graphics, e-mail, website construction, and file management) in the generation of a variety of research related and personal productivity projects. Electronic portfolio, webpage design, lab assignments, technology assisted (e.g., Powerpoint), guided web module.

Example 2 Demonstrate use of specialized software and hardware (e.g., force plate, EMG, video motion analysis systems, body fat analysis and gas analysis) in the collection and analysis of research data for student projects, labs and assignments. Homework assignments, lab assignments, oral presentations, specialized library, searches, term papers, web pages, student presentations, science fair submissions, student journal submissions, poster presentations.

Example 3 Describe appropriate use of technology in the profession. Reflection papers, capstone experience, course projects.
