Final porfolio should contain these elements (remember, this is just an outline: refer to your in-class notes for more particulars. We will discuss them at length in class.)
I. Introduction (An expanded poetics paper, with a PERSONAL discussion of your poetics and how the various works in your portfolio exemplify, contradict, or complicate this statement of poetic values. This paper should be both theoretical, engaging various authors we've read this semester, and practical, concerning your practice as a poet/writer.)
II. Poetic Terms Glossary (a list of terms/concepts relating to poetry writing that you should collect like a magpie over the course of the semester)
III. In-class and out-of-class writings and revisions (Make sure to include the returned writings--with my comments--and your revisions/alterations/reimaginings of these writings.)
IV. Additional writings with brief statement of techniques/concepts employed in the writing of these pieces
V. Conclusion (Discuss the intellectual activity you've engaged in outside of the class this semester. Discuss how much you've written, any communities you've established or participated in, and what you've read in addition to our assigned texts. Of course, you can mention the assigned texts as well.)
(Optional: You can perhaps include a bibliography of work you've read relating to poetics and poetic techniques.)
