1. Complete SAT practice exercises:
Be sure to use a dictionary as you go: these are intended to be learning exercises!
Chart at least 10 new words that you acquired during these exercises. Turn in chart by Wednesday.
2. Develop your contribution for the Shakespeare Showcase. Click here for showcase info.
3. Revise your essay. Conference with me as needed. Final copy due this Friday 2/6.

Complete typed draft of Romeo and Juliet essay: due Thursday

Read to page 150 in your independent reading book this week.
Complete Acts 4 and 5 study guide questions.
See list of essay questions for Romeo and Juliet. Prepare to address at least one of these questions on Friday, when we will begin drafting the essay.
Week 2: 1/12-1/16
Read to page 100 in your independent reading book this week.
Monday:
Grammar Practice: Complete Fragments 1 and Commas 2 exercises. Check answers until you get a perfect score. Be prepared for identical exercises as a quiz tomorrow.
Vocabulary: Write complete sentences for all 20 words: acts 2-3 vocabulary

- Brief written reflection (in class) on your independent reading book. You should have read to at least page 70.
Week 1: 1/5-1/9
Romeo and Juliet should be read.
Act 1 questions , including ONE of the "Character Study" writing activities in Romeo and Juliet packet: turn in Friday. Extra credit: Prepare a dramatic reading for Friday, of your character study assignment, or a passage in Act 1 of the play.
Begin independent reading selection: choose a classic by Thursday. Read 50 pages by Monday.
Make notes on Literary Terms: Drama. Expect quiz NEXT Friday.
Make notes on vocabulary: Act 1. Expect quiz next Friday.
