INDEPENDENT READING PrOJECT
In order to meet California State Standards in reading proficiency, students are expected to be reading two million words annually by grade 12. We begin laying the foundation for this in grade 9 by completing a minimum of 40 pages of outside reading each week.
Student progress is monitored by various means, including:
- Weekly Reading Logs
- Completion of 6-week reading reports
- Written Book Reviews
- Completion of "i-read reports"
- Teacher conference
