Highlights:

5:00 wake-up, head out of camp a little after 7, planning to climb up to the saddle below Pouch Peak and check the weather.  We end up below the south, instead of north, saddle and when Navigator Matt goes to scout ahead, he goes too far out on a rock and gets into a bad spot. We wait while Pip helps him retrieve his backpack, and then meet them at the top of the south saddle.  We decide that instead of climbing Pouch Peak, we will continue across to the other ridge.  Part of the way across, we start to hear thunder and stop for lunch among the trees, preparing for a lightening drill.  The storm stays in the distance as we hear Matt's autobiography (and munch on sausage with our bickies) but as soon as we start moving again, we hear more thunder and hurry to the next patch of trees for a relatively short lightening drill.  We keep going but are stopped again for another, longer drill (which some of us use to catch a siesta).  When we start moving again, we need to move quickly because there are no trees as we top the ridge.  We get over the ridge and start heading down to the bench where we want to camp.  We are all cold, wet and tired.  Over dinner we get Zoey's autobiography.  Dinner and circle feel odd without Matt and Jeff.  We finally get to sleep, happy to know we can sleep in a little the next day.
