Natural Heartburn Cures
Heartburn and Acid Reflux
Heartburn is the sideeffect of the modern day life style. Irregular eating habits, lack of enough physical activity, smoking, excessive alcohol, junk food, lack of sleep and any similar things are an invitation to acid reflux, popularly known as Heartburn. The problem of acid reflux, which takes place in stomach, appears to be harmless and just another problem to be ignored. However, the more you ignore that burning sensation, more is the risk of greater damage in your body. If the burning problem keeps regularly happening, it’s better to take some steps to cure the issue. Of course one can see the physician and take medications. However, there are also some natural caretaking steps. These are detailed below in brief.
Causes of high Acid Reflux
Firstly, monitor what you eat the whole day. If you have lot of caffeine in your diet, you should reduce the quantity. So avoid those big mugs of coffee. Try decaffeinated coffee. Also if you have a sweet tooth then put control to it. Avoid chocolates as much as you can. Certain fruits too are cause of high acid reflux. Try to reduce the intake of high acid content fruits like oranges, sweetlime, etc. If you are used to take 3-4 large diets a day, change your eating habits. Start taking smaller diet size. This would not stress your stomach into digesting the whole new lot. Hence, lesser acidic juices will be secreted in stomach. Also stop eating spicy foods and that soda. Junk food like burgers, pizza, frozen foods invite heartburns. Switch to organic foods for curing your heartburn, specifically, those which help you lower the acid effect in your stomach. Fried oily food is also a “must not” for heartburn patients.
Natural cures
Some patients also try bananas and such natural vegetables. There are special teas like Kukicha tea available which can help. Kukicha tea is a Japanese tea made of special twigs. It is made from stems of the same plant whose leaves are used to make the green tea or the black tea that we drink often. The stem is dried and roasted to make Kukicha tea. This tea is grown in many parts of Asia. There are many varieties of it available in market. The tea is served with lemon. 3 or more cups daily are good. You can also buy this tea online. A set of 16 wrapped tea bags can cost anywhere between $5 to $10.This tea cause you to burp which can reduce the acid secretion. Some medical advisors and even studies suggest that the more saliva your mouth secret better for your heartburn. So out of the many natural acid reflux diets, one acid reflux diet is to chew gums. Chewing gums lead to more saliva secretion in mouth. This saliva goes down to stomach and dilutes the harmful excess stomach acids. The result is that the effect on the oesophagus is much reduced now.
Heartburn short term solution
Another short term heartburn solution is antacids. Antacids work as a shield. When they reach stomach, they form a covering over the harmful acid. This way, atleast for sometime though, your tender vulnerable oesophagus is shielded against the harmful acids by this heartburn medication.
Exercise for heartburn
Exercise too helps heal heartburns. Do walk sufficiently in a day. Also lessen the smoking habit.
Heartburn should be kept in control else it can create a big medical problem. Good healthy natural diet can help a lot to prevent this problem and avoid big hospital bills.
