Yale Strom
Violinist, composer, film maker, writer, photographer and playwright, Yale Strom was the first to graduate from SDSU with a Jewish Studies minor. He is now one of the world's leading ethnographer-artists of klezmer music and history. His field research in Europe has lead to six awardwinning documentary films and several books. Strom's musical compositions have been heard on National Public Radio and performed around the world. With his klezmer band, Hot Pstromi and his wife, vocalist, Elizabeth Schwartz, he has created twelve CD's. He lectures widely and has taught at New York University. Strom is guest curator for a musical and photographic celebration of the newly restored Eldridge Street Synagogue on Manhattan's Lower East Side, October, 2007.
