JHSSD-Maury M. Travis Collection
This two-box collection was first received by the Lipinsky Institute for Judaic Studies in the late 1980s, upon the death of Maury Travis, who willed his personal papers to the Dr. Lawrence Baron, Director of the Lipinsky Institute for Judiac Studies at SDSU. These papers were then accessioned by the Jewish Historical Society of San Diego Archives in 1999. The collection contains information concerning Travis's personal life, including his legal name change in 1946 from Moses Kornfeld to Maury Travis. Also of particular interest in his collection, are extensive source materials on Jewish anti-Zionism.
