JHSSD-Sol Price Collection

This small one folder collection contains a VHS videotape of a PBS special on Sol Price and the City Heights Project, with an accompanying newspaper arrticle. The PBS Special, California and the American Dream, featured the efforts of public agencies to redevelop the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego, tracking the role of San Diego discount retailer, Sol Price, founder of the Price Club (now Costco) chain, as a philanthropic force who was able to help turn the blighted community into a vibrant urban village.
