JHSSD-Lipinsky Institute for Judaic Studies Collection
This collection documents the operation of the Lipinsky Institute for Judaic Studies at San Diego State University, under the guidance of its director, Professor Lawrence Baron. The collection numbers 4 boxes of approximately 60 folders each and contains over 25 years of materials that record such topics as: Judaic Studies Courses at SDSU offered each semester since 1977; the New Perspectives in Judaic Studies Lecture Series, featuring guest lecturers for funded lectures such as the Glickman-Galinson Symposium, the Maurice Friedman Lecture, the Robert Siegel Memorial Lecture, the Abraham Nasatir Lecture, the Dorris Lipinsky Memorial Lecture in the Performing Jewish Arts, and others. Also documented in this collection is information on the Visiting Israeli Professors, the Lipinsky Institute Newsletters, donor records, funding of the Snyder Reading Room, and the Western Jewish Studies Association, under the direction of Lawrence Baron.
