Alpha/Beta Test

Working title: The Beauty of Krakow

Brief Profile of Users
I interviewed my three friends who shared similar interests in visiting Krakow.

One of them was born in Poland and wants to go there with her children for this summer’s vacation. Two friends have never been to Krakow, but are interested in viewing pictures and reading about the city.

Think Aloud Task

I asked the three users to browse through the website and tell me what they liked or disliked.

The users explored the site with no prior information in order to keep their opinion unbiased.

I asked the users to find a site of my website that they were interested in. Also I asked them to find the transportation section. Then I asked them to visit each of the other sections of the web.

Summary of Think Aloud

The users were able to quickly choose and click on the site they have picked on the home page and explored it. They easily found the transportation site and viewed it. They were able to find desired information. They also visited all the remaining pages. They noticed the links located in the text area and viewed the information. Generally the users commented that the color and layout of the website looked neat and professional. The navigation through various pages was easy.

Summary of Posttest

I asked the users what they liked or didn't like, if they had any suggestions on what I could change or improve my web site. I asked them to mainly focus on the two requirements: design, principles, and, navigation system. I explained the terms. Two users commented that my website was neat and well structured. They also said that they found there relevant information. They liked bright colors and pictures.

Findings to be Implemented
As a result of the Alpha/Beta User Test, I will adjust the:

· spelling in some text areas.

· might change links’ color for better contrast.

· format of the text to wrap around the pictures.

· improve my media page.

· include descriptions for pictures.

· double check if there are any broken links.

Findings that will not be Implemented
I am not going to change the colors or font because the template was giving me technical problems.
