Program Information : ISCOR Spotlight Universities
The University of Stockholm
The ISCOR Program and the SDSU Office of International Programs would like
to draw your attention to a unique opportunity to study during the fall or
spring at the University of Stockholm. As many of you know, Stockholm is one
of the most attractive and cosmopolitan cities in Europe. The recent completion
of Europe's longest tunnel/bridge now affords easy access to the rest of Europe.
Founded in 1878 as a college for natural science, the University of Stockholm
has grown to include more than 90 undergraduate and graduate programs for 34,000
students. Courses in international affairs, economics, security and conflict
resolution are available. The University has extensive research facilities
and is located in Stockholm's first public park (similar to Balboa Park).
The University of Stockholm is also very affordable. SDSU students pay approximately
$180 per month for on-campus accommodations and cost of living is slightly
less than here in Southern California. Our students also may use their financial
aid to cover costs of the program and they only pay the standard SDSU fees
to participate. There is also a scholarship available to students.
Surprisingly, the University of Stockholm offers more than 300
courses taught in English. Many of these are directly
related to the ISCOR Program curriculum. If you have ever been to Sweden, you
know that English is a second language to most. Please review the links above
to help familiarize yourself with one of SDSU's "best kept secrets" for
study abroad. Deadline for applications is March 15, 2003 for Fall, October
15, 2003 for Spring.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Robert
Carolin ((619) 594-1982) of the International Students Center.
