Scott Tinley - scott@scotttinley.com
Scott Tinley was a professional triathlete and two-time winner of the Hawaii Ironman endurance race. He was inducted into the Ironman Hall of Fame in 1996.Now retired, Scott is a writer and teacher. His latest book, Racing the Sunset, a journey through athlete retirement and the larger issues of life transition and change, is the result of one of the most thorough research projects ever attempted on retiring athletes.Scott also teaches English and "Sport and Society" at San Diego State University. This 7th generation Southern Californian currently resides in Del Mar, California with his wife and two children.
Jerry Sherk -
is a former American football defensive tackle who played for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League from 1970 until 1981 (12 seasons). He made the Pro Bowl lineup for four straight years between 1973 and 1976.In 1991 Sherk returned to college, earning a master’s degree in counseling psychology. He began counseling various vulnerable populations, becoming especially interested in working with at-risk children. Along the way he created a school-based group mentoring program that uses sports to teach young people how to reach goals in academics and life.
