Survey Research

I am currently conducting a survey relating to logistics and transportation management and the usage of information technology. Logistics and transportation management have recently become strategically important for businesses attempting to gain market advantages over their competition. By employing advanced information technology, companies have reengineered the way much of their business is conducted.  However, many of the characteristics of this trend have not been formally studied.  The purpose of this project is to study current logistics and transportation management practices and the information technology that supports them. This project will also investigate the role of logistics management and e-business development.  A copy of the survey results will be made available free to all survey respondents.

The survey will provide at least three benefits to your company: (1) it provides up-to-date cross industry picture on logistics management, (2) it provides overall assessments on your own logistics function; and (3) it provides benchmarks that you can perform further analysis.

I have conducted a survey on Maquiladora Program. The purpose of that project is to study the strategic role of maquiladora plant in global production and operations networks, and its sourcing practices.

My graduate student Sherry Irwin and I have conducted a survey on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Implementation.  The purpose of that project is to study the benefits of ERP implementation as well as the factors making it successful.
